By law, cases with criminal or statutory concerns (e.g., homicide, suicide, etc.) will be referred to the Coroner or Medical Examiner’s office. We work closely with various Coroner’s across Northwest Indiana and have contracted with several county Coroners.

• you are a Coroner within Indiana

• you have a case that does not meet state criteria for evaluation

• you have a family that is still interested in obtaining an autopsy for closure

• and it is within your legal discretion
